How hard is it to choose between iOS and Android? Well, pretty hard, especially if the choice stands between the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S IV. One one hand, we have the exalted and eminent iPhone that works wonders. You might not get a jumble of features, but at lease you are sure shot about what you are getting. On the other hand, we have a relatively new Galaxy S IV that is world's part from it's iOS counterpart. It's huge, stuffed with features, which can be both fun and gimmicky depending upon your usage, and of course, it is immensely powerful.
If you are facing a
tough time choosing between the Galaxy S IV and the iPhone 5, the best bet is
to start comparing at the superficial level- the hardware. And then you can
take up other aspects like software, features, third-party support et all.
Hardware:
With its quad-core Snapdragon 600 SoC processor which
comes integrated with LTE support, the hardware of Samsung Galaxy S IV is undoubtedly
superior as compared to that of the 5th version of iPhone. And the
below mentioned table makes it even more clear.

There's a considerable difference in the RAM. As per the pixels on the
paper, the camera also promises to render quality results. And of course,
Galaxy's MicroSD card Slot gives it an upper hand over the Apple entity.
But iPhone 5 also has it's own set of arsenals to show Galaxy a face
down. One such arsenal is the GPU. iPhone 5′s SGX543MP3 is high on endurance as
compared to Snapdragon 600′s Adreno 320. Though Apple might feel snappier
during use, but that's because it's GPU pushes fewer pixels. Seriously, it is
still difficult to comprehend why someone would perch a 1920X1080p display in a
smart phone. But, if your eyes can't tell 1080 p from 720 p while viewing a 12
inch screen, why bother?
Furthermore, S IV's battery may be almost double in size as compared to
that of iPhone 5, but it's useless. With it's enormous screen, Samsung's
battery is unlikely to last twice as long. Apple has won accolades for its
capability of squeezing the maximum battery life out of small batteries, but
still, S IV's huge 2600 mAh is likely to have an upper hand.
So, at the hardware front, S IV emerges as a clear winner!
Software: At the superficial level,
you may not find any significant differences between Samsung Galaxy S IV and
iPhone 5, but as you analyze the software, the real-time differentiation crops
up. With TouchWiz Skin and Android 4.2, Galaxy S IV is world's apart from the
iPhone's iOS 6. Deciding which OS will render a superior experience can be a
daunting task.
Iphone's iOS is surrounded by much of contradictions. On one hand, it's
appreciators tag the simplicity of it's OS as one of the key reasons for its
success, it's opponents are of a completely opposite opinion. If you haven't
used any smart phone other than the iPhone before, you might find iOS easy and
fun to use. But owing to it's 'simplicity' there are a lot of things that this
smart phone may not be able to render, especially when compared to Galaxy S IV.
Not only does the iPhone 5 lack enticing hardware feature offered by Samsung,
it's iOS is so impregnable that altering basic things like the web browser,
home screen or the on-screen keyboard become a challenge. Basically, iPhone
works on the 'one-size-fits-all' ideology. So, if it doesn't fit your needs,
you would better start looking for a flexible alternative or opt for the
Samsung Galaxy S IV.
So, from the software analysis, Galaxy S IV again emerges as a clear
winner.
Features: iPhone has some great
features like AirPrint, iSight and iCloud but with Galaxy S IV, Samsung has
opened up an avenue of a crazy bunch of features that Apple can only dream of
launching. It may take Apple years to replicate these apps, even after the
launch of iPhone 5 S and iPhone 6.
Again, Samsung Galaxy S IV comes out as a clear winner.
And the Winner Is...
Samsung Galaxy S Iv. Yes! Whether it's the hardware, the software or the
features- Galaxy S IV has maintained an upper hand through out. So, probably
this time around making a choice between iOS and Android wouldn't be so
challenging.
